China Unicom Ends First Round 4G Bidding Invitation(Sinocast Telecommunications Beat (China) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BEIJING, March 10, SinoCast -- China Unicom will release 4G strategy on March 18 and TD-LTE wireless equipment bidding invitation has ended. Bid winners included Huawei, ZTE, Datang, Potevio, NSN and Ericsson. The bidding invitation started from January 2014, being the first round relating to TD-LTE equipment kicked off by China Unicom. China Unicom has been building 4G experimental network in dozens of major cities after getting TD-LTE licenses in December 2013. 4G commercialization will be scheduled to commence in 25 cities from March 18, with 300 cities involved by the end of 2014. Early stage 4G network is based on TD-LTE format. |
