BRIEF: Boulder's Zayo Group buys CoreXchange for $17.5 million [Daily Camera, Boulder, Colo. :: ]

(Daily Camera (Boulder, CO) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) March 06--Boulder-based Zayo Group LLC, through its Zayo Colocation Inc. subsidiary, acquired Dallas-based data center and bandwidth firm CoreXchance for $17.5 million, officials announced Thursday.

As part of the all-cash deal, Zayo Colocation, or ZColo, will add more than 18,000 square feet of data center space and will bring its total data center count to 27 locations. ZColo also plans to integrate CoreXchange's online portal ColoUnlimited with Zayo's newly launched Tranzact Internet site that allows customers to add services and order products, officials said.

The integration of ColoUnlimited is expected to occur in the second quarter.

"Dallas is one of the world's leading corporate headquarter hubs and has seen tremendous growth in the high tech and energy fields," Chris Morley, president at Zayo Group, said in a statement. "Expanding the zColo footprint not only provides more alternatives for colocation in the Dallas market, but provides easier access for customers to tap into Zayo's international Bandwidth Infrastructure footprint." ___ (c)2014 the Daily Camera (Boulder, Colo.)
