Ajman Palace gears for international exposure [Travel & Tourism News]

(Travel & Tourism News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings will be participating in ITB Berlin under the umbrella of Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

"ITB Berlin is not only the world's largest travel trade show welcoming more than 11,163 exhibitors and over 170,000 visitors but is also the ideal business to business platform that gives us an excellent opportunity to showcase our brands and products to an international market," CEO Laurent Voivenel says. Founded in 2003 in Dubai, HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings is the first hotel chain in the Middle East to offer an alcohol-free, safe environment. It provides hotel owners and developers a broad spectrum of comprehensive management solutions with four distinct, yet complementary, hotel brands catering to varied market segments from budget to luxury.

"With a superb mix of brands, namely The Ajman Palace, Coral Hotels & Resorts, Corp Hotels and EWA Hotel Apartments, catering to various segments, we offer a great choice in terms of properties and destinations, be it idyllic beach resorts or world-class business hotels and serviced apartments brilliantly located in some of the most sought-after destinations in the Middle East and North Africa region.

"While reinforcing our existing relations with the global travel trade, ITB is the perfect platform to network and connect with new business partners. Based on latest figures, it is evident that tour operators are increasingly keen to seek out new options and negotiate solid business. Most of the destinations we are in enjoyed excellent growth in recent months outpacing the increase in capacity that resulted in better occupancy for our hotels and we are eager to capitalise on it." With passenger traffic reaching 66 million at Dubai International Airport in 2012 and forecast to rise to 90 million by 2018, the expansion of room inventory in the emirate is not a major concern. While Germany is a key market for Dubai with 63 weekly flights from Emirates alone serving four gateways, there is a strong interest from other buyers too.

Voivenel… ITB Berlin is an excellent opportunityTHE AJMAN PALACEThe Ajman Palace is all set for ITB to support the emirate's tourism push. The sales team from The Ajman Palace, a luxury heritage resort with a modern spirit, will be joining the Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) at ITB Berlin, aiming to build awareness about the hotel and the emirate in European markets and promote its cultural and beach attractions.

The hotel aims for the ideal platform to showcase new and existing hotels in Ajman to woo summer trade and build tour operator contacts for the coming winter season.

According to the CEO of HMH – Hospitality Management Holdings, which manages The Ajman Palace, despite the early stages of operation, the hotel is already beginning to gain a solid reputation for quality and value among European clients.

"Being the first hotel in Ajman classified as five-star by the Ajman Tourism Development Department, The Ajman Palace is a flagship that defines the emirate's push to win recognition as a 'new' destination in the Arabian Gulf," he says.

"With several new luxury hotel names opening up soon, there is no doubt that the destination has the assets to be flagged up as a viable alternative for those looking for sunshine and a taste of exotica, and we are delighted to help the ATDD in its efforts to market Ajman to the discerning trade audience at ITB Berlin."According to the latest figures from the Ajman Department of Economic Development, there are more than 30 hotels and hotel apartments in the emirate, which hosted around 600,000 guests in 2012.

Among the prime source markets are Russia and the CIS States, which accounted for 38 per cent of the total, followed by Europe (22 per cent), Asia (13 per cent) and the GCC (11 per cent).

A beachfront Arabesque-style resort set in the heart of the emirate, The Ajman Palace has 254 rooms, suites and serviced residences including 139 Deluxe rooms and 54 Lifestyle Club rooms on the sixth and seventh floors.

Facilities include the Encore Lifestyle Club with nine luxurious treatment rooms, fitness centre and an outdoor Jacuzzi and pool plus a range of restaurants offering international cuisine, gourmet Arabian dining and Japanese/Thai fusion as well as 'Nojoom Lounge' – a scenic rooftop shisha lounge.

For meetings and events, the hotel has one of the largest ballrooms in Ajman and the Northern Emirates. It is divisible into three and can accommodate up to 1,200 guests cocktail style or 850 seated dinner, plus a 360-capacity conference hall, four meeting rooms and a VIP function room, as well as an extensive outdoor rooftop terrace.

CORAL MUSCATVoivenel was recently in Muscat to monitor the progress of Coral Muscat Hotel and Apartments, which is in advanced stages of construction and is due for completion by the second quarter of 2014. It is one of five properties scheduled to open this year under the HMH banner and will be a flagship hotel for Coral Hotels & Resorts in Muscat.

"The construction has really picked up pace over the last few months and it is wonderful to see the building taking shape," says Voivenel. "The developers have done a fantastic job and we are confident Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments will turn out to be a preferred address for both corporate and leisure travellers to the city.

Owned by Mustafa Sultan Enterprises, Coral Muscat Hotel & Apartments is located in Qurum and is a 20 minute-drive from Muscat International Airport. Muscat has the strongest performing hotel market in Oman, with occupancy rates exceeding 60 per cent in H1 2013, closely followed by Musandam and Dhofar. There is a near parity between the impact of domestic and foreign tourism in Oman, with just over half of spending in 2012 coming from locals, a split the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) said would be maintained over the next ten years. The number of hotel rooms in the Muscat governorate is set to double over the next five years from a current stock of about 3,750 to about 7,750 as the country realises long-held plans to quadruple the number of tourists it receives each year to 12 million by 2020.
