Frozen Food Foundation Hosts 5K Fun Run & Walk Presented by MorningStar Farms in San Diego


SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--

The Frozen Food Foundation is pleased to report that more than 400 community youth, teens and adults participated in the Foundation's 5K Fun Run & Walk presented by MorningStar Farms held on Feb. 23 at the Seaport Courtyard in San Diego, Calif.

The Foundation was particularly pleased to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego in a public display of health and wellness.

"The Frozen Food Foundation is proud to showcase the frozen food community's commitment to promoting increased physical activity and good-for-you frozen foods," said Foundation President Kraig R. Naasz. "I'm delighted by the overwhelming show of support among members of all ages of the San Diego community for the Frozen Food Foundation 5K Fun Run & Walk."

"The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego is committed to improving the outlook for youth by encouraging a healthy lifestyle," said Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego Director of Strategic Partnerships Tesha Young. "We are proud to partner with the Frozen Food Foundation in promoting the 5K Fun Run & Walk among our members."

Al race participants received a souvenir t-shirt and finisher's medal. MorningStar Farms served breakfast at the finish line, while Birds Eye showcased their Veggie Bike Derby and Green Giant's "Sprout (News - Alert)" lead runners and walkers in a warm-up stretch before the race.



"It is an honor for MorningStar Farms to join with the Frozen Food Foundation to encourage people to exercise and to eat smarter by choosing frozen veggie products," said Todd Smith, marketing director for MorningStar Farms.

Proceeds from the event benefit the public education and research efforts of the Frozen Food Foundation.
