Thom O'Connor was promoted to senior vice president of global support, Steve Poncini was appointed senior vice president of worldwide channels, and Alan Elliot was appointed vice president of sales for the Americas.

O'Connor is in his seventh year leading Zimbra technical support and related services. Prior to Telligent acquiring Zimbra from VMware, he was part of the VMware Global Support Services organization and served in leadership roles managing support, training and professional services for emerging products and end-user computing. Previously, O'Connor worked as a messaging expert at Yahoo, Sendmail and CommuniGate Systems. His technology career has been focused on making global customers successful at messaging and collaboration companies.


Steve Poncini, senior vice president of worldwide channels As the leader of Zimbra's channel program, Poncini will strengthen Zimbra's commitment to supporting its customers through a global network of skilled Zimbra partners. Prior to the merger of Telligent and Zimbra, Poncini served for several years as Telligent's vice president of international sales. Having led teams both in the U.S. and internationally, Poncini's expertise includes building strong customer relationships, developing partner channels, and executing sales strategies globally.

Alan Elliot, vice president of sales, Americas Elliot will lead sales efforts in North America and South America. He has spent 25 years in the cloud, security and collaboration markets, with a focus on enterprise software and international sales and marketing. In recent years, he has worked for messaging and security companies including Sendmail, Critical Path and Proofpoint, where he was vice president and general manager for international sales.
