EE JOBS CALLED BACK ; CITY DESK [Ulster Region] [Mirror (UK)]


(Mirror (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mobile phone giant EE is bringing 1,000 foreign call centre jobs back to the UK.

The firm announced plans to ditch offshore contracts in the Philippines in order to beef up its workforce here.

Around 250 of the jobs will be created in Northern Ireland in the spring. EE, which employs 6,500 call centre staff, also has sites in Merthyr Tydfil, near Cardiff, Darlington, Co Durham, Greenock, near Glasgow, and Plymouth, Devon.



The firm, formed from the merger of Orange and T-Mobile, also announced plans to triple its intake of apprentices to more than 1,300 by the end of 2015.
