SRU PR Office Captures 5 National Awards


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa., Feb. 14 -- Slippery Rock University issued the following news release: Staff in Slippery Rock University's University Public Relations Office scored five top awards, including two Gold awards and three Silver awards, in the 2013 College Advertising Awards Program.



The College Advertising Awards is an elite, national program designed to recognize the nation's most talented collegiate marketing professionals and outstanding excellence in all forms of advertising, marketing and promotions.

Aaron Moore, former graphic designer in the PR Office, earned two Gold medals, one for his Wellness logo design and one for his "Dance in India Poster. He earned a Silver award for the Kaleidoscope Booklet describing and promoting all of the events related to the University's annual two-week arts festival.


Sandra Busch, publications manager in the PR Office, earned two Silver awards. The first for her "Rockin' on the Ranch Sunset Serenade" event invitation and the second for her work on the Strategic Plan Annual Report.

Departmental staff provided writing, editing and photography for the projects.

SRU competes in the 5,001-10,000 student category.

"It is always exciting to win, and it is always interesting to see some of the names of the winners from other colleges and universities across the country," Busch said.

All promotional materials produced in 2013 for higher education organizations are eligible for the program.
