AHF Hands Out Free Condoms at Great SF Pillow FightSAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)-- AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF):
Valentine's Day usually means two things to many San Franciscans: the Great San Francisco Pillow Fight in Justin Herman Plaza when the Ferry Building clock strikes 6 pm, and a guaranteed night of sexual opportunity. AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) aims to make sure this year's night of love stays as safe as it is fun by providing thousands of free LOVE brand condoms at the annual pillow fight, as well as promoting the free late-night HIV testing opportunity provided weekly by AHF on Folsom Street. The condoms - wrapped in shiny red foil emblazoned with the word "LOVE" - are being distributed in connection with the annual observance of International Condom Day on February 13. AHF hosted dozens of events in 29 countries worldwide this week in connection with the awareness day that promotes condoms use as an integral tool in preventing the spread of HIV and STDs. AHF's presence at the Pillow Fight also allows the nonprofit to raise awareness for its newest HIV testing center located in the city's South of Market (SoMa) District, home to a slew of leather fetish-themed bars on Folsom Street. The AHF SoMa Testing Center is located on the 2nd floor of the Out of the Closet Thrift Store at 1295 Folsom Street (at 9th Street) and offers free rapid HIV testing with results in 60 seconds on Thursdays and Fridays from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am. "We have thousands of condoms that literally scream LOVE that we want to give away to the public, so where better to do that than on Valentine's Day at one of the city's most beloved traditions?" said Dale Gluth, Bay Area Regional Director for AHF. "We're also thrilled to spread the word about our newest testing center, which has late-night hours that are perfect for people who don't get off of work until after most testing opportunities are closed."
