BRIEF: Council to discuss Municipal Court software upgrade [The Duncan Banner, Okla. :: ]

(Duncan Banner (OK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Feb. 09--DUNCAN -- A proposal to upgrade the software used in the Duncan municipal court system will be discussed on Tuesday by the City Council.

The council will discuss and possibly take action on a proposal by Sutterfield Technologies LLC that would streamline Municipal Court operations and prep the court system for future upgrades, said City Manager Jim Frieda.

The change would help consolidate tracking citations and payments.

Frieda said there are plans to introduce the digiTICKET program at Municipal Court, although nothing's been approved and no contracts have been signed yet. He said that program, which needs the updated system, would allow all citation and payment information to be entered for easier review at a later time.

He said there's a somewhat lengthy process when it comes to each citation. With the updated system and an introduction of the digiTICKET program, paper tickets would be replaced by digital tickets.Frieda said one benefit of the program would be the ability to keep better track of citations issued and payments received.

The Duncan City Council will meet at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers.
