VoltDB Updates on Revenue Growth in 2013 [Manufacturing Close - Up]

(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) VoltDB, an operational database, announced that it experienced triple digit revenue growth in 2013.

According to a release, VoltDB realized a 298 percent increase in revenue and a 368 percent boost in bookings last year over 2012 as well as surpassed 325 customers under contract. The company's sales traction, market adoption and industry recognition has propelled VoltDB to the forefront of the high performance operational database market.

Applications that require high-speed real-time operations and in- memory analytics for in-the-moment decisioning capabilities present problems that traditional database systems and other Big Data architectures cannot easily solve. As a result, industry innovators in areas such as telecommunications, e-commerce, power and energy, financial services, advertising and online gaming are turning to VoltDB as the only operational database purpose-built for high performance operations with real-time analytics, the Company said.

In 2013 VoltDB added Airpush, Alcatel-Lucent, Arkalogic, BOLDstreet, CGI/Logica, Eagle Investments, Hewlett-Packard, Mavizon, Neverblue, Novatel, Openet and many others to its customer and partner rosters. All of these organizations are harnessing the power of VoltDB to develop a new generation of real-time applications that will transform their respective businesses and industries.

As part of the company's industry recognition last year, VoltDB was included in Gartner's latest analysis of the Operational Database Market, the Magic Quadrant for Operational Databases, published on October 21, 2013. Additionally, Gartner identified the trends shaping the market for modern database technology in its report OLTP DBMS Market Becomes the Operational DBMS Market, published on May 29, 2013 "We are delighted with our results in 2013 and believe the incredible market demand we're experiencing is a testament to VoltDB's inherent and unique ability to support next generation real- time Big Data applications," said Bruce Reading, president and CEO of VoltDB. "These applications must be able to ingest and analyze immense amounts of data in microseconds and take immediate action to capitalize on that intelligence. VoltDB provides the essential combination of in-memory analytics and fully transactional decisioning capabilities to get the job done."
