Magellan Complete Care of Florida Joins State's Agency for Health Care Administration for Contract Celebration Ceremony
AVON, Conn. --(Business Wire)--
Leaders from Magellan (News - Alert) Complete Care of Florida and the state's Agency
for Health Care Administration (AHCA) came together today for a contract
celebration ceremony in Tallahassee, observing the contract between AHCA
and the health plans selected as part of Florida's Statewide Medicaid
Managed Care Program's Managed Medical Assistance program.
Magellan Complete Care of Florida, the only Medicaid specialty plan for
individuals with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) in the country, was
selected in September 2013 as a Managed Medical Assistance plan in eight
regions across the state, including in 40 of Florida's 67 counties.
Magellan Complete Care's model centers around a Care
Coordination Team, which works with members, their doctors,
counselors, family, and caregivers to set goals for feeling better and
enjoying a healthier lie. The Care Coordination Team also includes a
dedicated health guide who, when needed, helps by scheduling
appointments, arranging transportation to appointments, and assisting
with adhering to treatment plans.
