The Board of Directors has voted to commemorate the anniversary by donating $260,000 to the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation. With this gift, the Foundation, established in 2012, can expand support for the credit union's charitable partners.

"As a board we are proud of our history of "People Helping People," said Chairman of the Board Paul J. Marotta. "Now, we have the honor of providing a substantial gift to the Foundation. I can't wait to see the benefits to our service area that happen because of the Foundation."

The Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation has worked extensively with neighbors on Massachusetts' military bases, as well as military and veteran support groups such as Boston Fisher House and the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. The Foundation also takes great pride in long-running relationships with preeminent organizations such as Children's Hospital Boston and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless.

"The Credit Union Board has always been supportive of our efforts, and this obviously takes that support to another, extraordinary level," said Hanscom Charitable Foundation Chairman Alan M. Hart. "Whether it's a book drive or financial support, we've spent years doing important work with some special partners. Now, together, we can imagine some new possibilities."

Hanscom Federal Credit Union, headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., serves 52,049 members across the country and overseas through 16 branches, over 100,000 service centers and surcharge-free ATMs, 24-hour telephone service and a web-based branch. The credit union holds over $1 billion in assets.
