Mocana MAP Developer Program Passes 100-Member Milestone

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

Mocana, the device and mobile security leader, today announced the Mocana MAP Developer Program has surpassed the 100-member milestone. Created to help mobile app developers quickly and easily meet best-in-class security requirements for enterprise customers, the program now serves a broad community of in-house and third-party mobile app developers, who are employing Mocana Mobile App Protection™ to help eliminate the barriers to the massive and rapid scaling of enterprise mobile app deployments.

"The MAP Developer Program has enjoyed tremendous growth by demonstrating its ability to dramatically reduce the engineering effort required to integrate enterprise-grade security into mobile apps, enabling developers to accomplish in seconds what used to take months," said Kurt Stammberger, CISSP, vice president of market development at Mocana. "We've put a lot of effort into making sure developers who use MAP will experience a very straightforward integration with their mobile apps, without the need for extensive testing and auditing. Our primary goal with this program is to make it easier to use, with an even simpler, more approachable and familiar developer experience."

The Mocana MAP Developer Program provides free tools, technical support and co-marketing opportunities for enterprise and ISV developers building secure mobile apps. It offers mobile developers free access to the MAP Testing Workbench™, an online self-certification service that allows them to test-drive the MAP technology to ensure that their mobile apps are MAP-ready. By providing this early opportunity for enterprise and third-party developers to experience MAP, they can ensure that everything goes smoothly when it comes time to deploy apps for their biggest customers, inside or outside the organization.

MAP Developer Program members include some of the most recognized names in the industry, including SAP, Alcatel Lucent (News - Alert), IBM, Verizon, Nvidia and L-3 Communications, as well as many other technology leaders such as Accellion, Box, SAS, MicroStrategy, Apperian, Oceus Networks and Merlin International. A complete list of participating companies can be found at mocana.com/customers/partners.

"At Capriza, our focus is on providing a platform for enabling our enterprise customers to quickly and easily create, deploy and manage lightweight, personalized and beautiful apps, which we call Zapps. Working with Mocana MAP has enabled us to easily deliver enterprise-grade security to our customers," said Oren Ariel, CTO and co-founder at Capriza. "The MAP Developer Program has been a valuable resource in enabling us to succeed in empowering customers to distribute Zapps that meet specific business needs."

As the global provider of the SAP (News - Alert)® Mobile App Protection solution by Mocana, SAP sells mobile "app wrapping" software to many developers who can benefit from Mocana's development program. "We're pleased that SAP mobile apps partners can choose to join the Mocana MAP Developer Program and take advantage of its tools and support," said Senthil Krishnapillai, vice president of mobile security at SAP. "The self-service certification in particular can help developers check whether their apps are ready to wrap and can make it easier for customers to evaluate and deploy the apps. Based on the momentum of this program, we can expect to see a wider variety of secure mobile apps for SAP customers."

Mocana's application-wrapping approach allows developers to address the growing and lucrative enterprise application market by enabling them to add robust security features such as per-app VPNs, FIPS 140-2 data-at-rest encryption and jailbreak detection to any Android (News - Alert)™ or iOS enterprise app in seconds without having to write a single line of code.

The Mocana MAP Developer Program and MAP Testing Workbench are free of charge and available now at mocana.com/mdp. For more information about the Mocana MAP Developer Program, please email Sanjay Kalyanasundaram at [email protected].
