Now, smartphone game that lets users help scientists find cure for cancer [Asian News International]

(Asian News International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) London, Feb. 06 (ANI): Researchers have developed a new mobile game that will enable smartphone users to help scientists find a cure for cancer.

"Citizen scientists" will play the space-based game to highlight flaws in the genetic make-up of cancer patients and will help scientists beat the disease using the world's first app designed to unravel genetic data, the Daily Star reported.

Game 'Play To Cure: Genes In Space' by the Cancer Research UK is set 800 years in the future and the app is free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

In the game, players are challenged to steer their spaceship collecting a valuable material called Element Alpha.

As they navigate their craft through space they are actually mapping out genetic data, which will later be analysed by scientists. (ANI) (c) 2014 aninews.in All rights reserved. Provided by Syndigate.info, an Albawaba.com company
