Blogger Jenna Parsons of MOMenvy Blog Wins Turducken from Software Company and Starts the Beginning of a Great Relationship

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Boston, MA (PRWEB) February 03, 2014 Boston-based Boost Software™ recently got into the spirit of the season by giving away a license to its software—and a turducken! It gave the turducken away to blogger and PC HealthBoost™ community member Jenna Parsons, as announced on the PC Health Boost blog on Thursday. Parsons was also the recipient of the software license.

But this was just the first step in a mutually beneficial relationship for Public Relations Director Erin Walsh and “Mom Blogger” Jenna Parsons.

The Boost Software™ Turducken Sweepstakes is the brainchild of Erin Walsh, currently serving as the company's Director of Public Relations and Inbound Marketing.

“I wanted to step out of the PR comfort zone and do something that would put us on the map in an unusual way. I also wanted to give back to the PC HealthBoost™ online community,” says Walsh.

“We have great customers and a great Facebook community,” says Walsh. “Boost Software™ was started up by two individuals who really wanted to give back to the world, and I'm doing my best to reflect that.” Walsh has also created other holiday giveaway sweepstakes in keeping with the season, including $100 Amazon shopping sprees and several different “win for you and a friend” coffee-and-software mini-sweepstakes.

“The Turducken Sweepstakes was sort of a tester, I guess you could say,” says Walsh. “It ended up going very well—and it couldn't have happened to a better person.” That person is Jenna Parsons, owner ad writer of the MOMenvy Blog. Parson's blog features product reviews and informs readers about sweepstakes, giveaways, and other opportunities. The blog reviews everything from non-GMO tomatoes, to software, to gift cards, to various holiday sweepstakes.

And what about the Boost Software™ Thanksgiving sweepstakes? The turducken is a type of “royal roast,” a bird stuffed with a bird stuffed with a bird. Such royal roasts have been around in varying forms (with goose and quail, for example) since at least the 1800s.

“I have always wanted to try a turducken since I saw one on the Food Network years ago,” says Parsons.

The turduken gained popularity in 2008 after promotion by football commentator and former player John Madden. It has been increasing in popularity since that time. Holiday feasters enjoy them for a variety of reasons.

While most Americans associate turkey with Thanksgiving meal, traditions vary from family to family. Such is the case with Parsons. Even though her formative family traditions didn't center on turkey, the turducken still made a connection with the past.

“My dad is a chef, and when I was a little girl, he used to make duck, because it was my mom's favorite,” says the MOMenvy blogger. “I haven't had duck since then, until the turducken.” The MOMenvy blog is a PR-friendly blog that accepts products of all types for review. Parsons is not only the author and owner of the MOMEnvy blog. She also helps Boost Software with twitter parties, weekly sweepstakes and more since they began their relationship in November. Check out the latest sweepstakes that they started running this January.

“Jenna has ended up being an invaluable tool to our team. I never thought that this would develop from one of our sweepstakes, but it started with the giveaway, and then she reviewed the software and it just kept going from there,” says Walsh, “It leaves me with a feeling the sweepstakes were really meant to be.” If you would like to stay abreast of all of the latest sweepstake offers, visit the PC Health Boost Facebook page.
