Standard Charitable Foundation-$5,000 Awarded to Westmoreland Community Action


(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 30 January 2014 Release date- 29012014 - Standard Charitable Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to Westmoreland Community Action to help provide computer software and hardware upgrades for its main office and a remote location.



The mission of the non-profit is to strengthen communities and families to eliminate poverty though counseling, support, education, intervention, collaboration, partnership, information, referrals and networking.

Since 1980, Westmoreland Community Action (formerly Westmoreland Human Opportunities) has made Westmoreland County a better place to live by helping struggling families improve their standard of living and become more self-sufficient. Through housing services, emergency assistance, mental health programs, employment programs, child development and more - they have helped thousands of Westmoreland County's disadvantaged residents, 14,000 in 2013 alone.


Tay Waltenbaugh, Westmoreland Community Action's CEO, comments, 'Thanks to Standard Bank, Westmoreland Community Action and Shop Demo Depot will move our IT needs into the future by transferring our website over to content management and upgrading our data backup device. By improving both of these areas, not only our agency but Shop Demo Depot will be able to solidify our internal IT operations.'
