(Akron Beacon Journal (OH) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 24--STOW -- Who knew? Matco Tools -- a mobile tool-franchise company -- has been generating big money for breast cancer research since the start of its 2012 "Tool for the Cause" campaign, doing so through the sales of special-edition pink products.

Company President Tim Gilmore, along with his executive team, this week presented a check for nearly $440,000 to Miguel Perez, the regional vice president of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

"This is a partnership that everyone in our company is very proud of and has strongly supported from the very beginning," Gilmore said. "We have worked with Komen for nearly two years, and being able to contribute to an organization that supports a great cause means a lot to our employees and our customers." Grateful for the partnership, Perez said, "This company's dedication to corporate social responsibility has truly been on display over the past year and a half, and the donations that have been collected are to help end breast cancer forever. Matco Tools' employees and customers should be very proud of their contribution.

"I know we are all very proud and honored." Matco, which recently began selling a new line of special edition products for the campaign, will continue selling these limited-edition items through Sept. 30.
