CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --(Business Wire)--

The 8th annual Counter eCrime Operations Summit (CeCOS VIII) will assemble in Hong Kong, April 8-10, 2014, as the APWG gathers global leaders from the financial services, technology, government, law enforcement and communications sectors and research centers to define common goals and harmonize resources to strengthen the global counter-cybercrime effort.

APWG CeCOS VIII will review the development of response paradigms and resources for counter-cybercrime managers and forensic professionals in the private and public sectors. Presenters will review case studies of national and regional economies under attack, narratives of successful trans-national forensic cooperation - while considering models for global cooperation against ecrime and examining resources for cybercrime response and forensic enterprises.

The APWG CeCOS conference will investigate the modern phenomena of electronic crime from the point of view of the operations managers who must secure IT systems to protect both consumers and enterprise computer users, and undertake forensic exercises to investigate cybercrimes.

CeCOS VIII is an open conference for members of the electronic-crime fighting community. The CeCOS programs are widely considered the most vital events to investigators and managers of electronic crime from all sectors.

The APWG is collaborating with Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) as a local partner and sponsor of the CeCOS to develop the program. Event sponsors include 360 Safe and Hitachi (News - Alert) Systems, Ltd., both APWG members. Program sponsors include HKCERT, Anti-Phishing Alliance of China and the global STOP. THINK.
