Intertek Hosts Grand Opening of New Testing Laboratory in Lake Forest, CA

Intertek (News - Alert), a leading provider of quality and safety solutions serving a wide range of industries around the world, recently hosted the formal Grand Opening of its new testing laboratory in Lake Forest, CA (News - Alert). Expanding its local presence from 30,000 square feet to now 80,000 square feet of office and laboratory space, Intertek can now deliver faster and more efficient product testing services to help manufacturers of home appliances and electronics, medical equipment, solar products, lighting and IT products meet all of their market, industry, and regulatory requirements.

The Grand Opening event was held on Thursday January 16th at Intertek's facility at 25800 Commercentre Drive in Lake Forest. Invited guests included the Company's customers and prospects across Southern California, as well as local officials from City Hall and the Lake Forest Chamber of Commerce. Lake Forest's mayor, the Honorable Dwight Robinson, provided a City Certificate to Nimer al-Hafi, President, Intertek Products U.S., during the ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the event.

Between Intertek's initial laboratory in the city (also on Commercentre Drive) and this second facility, the Company can now provide safety, performance and environmental testing to manufacturers in the following industries: Home appliances and electronics, Medical, Solar, Lighting, Industrial equipment and IT products. New capabilities have been added for Lighting Performance testing, including a goniophotometer room, a 3-meter and 2-meter sphere, and photo-biological testing. Hazardous Locations testing has also been added, concentrating initially on Class 1 Division 2 Protection and Explosion Proof, with plans to add Intrinsically Safe testing and certification in the future. The new lab also features an expanded medical devices testing laboratory, adding new testing standards to its scope of capability as well as more equipment and engineers to reduce turnaround time of customers' projects.

More than 150 guests and Intertek employees attended the Grand Opening celebration, which included free technical seminars, lab tours, ribbon-cutting ceremony, and a reception.
