Cal State Fullerton MBA Association Endorses Pan American Bank's Banktivist Movement
LOS ANGELES --(Business Wire)--
Pan American Bank today announced that the MBA Association ("MBAA") at
the California State University, Fullerton has recognized Banktivism as
a model for ethics in banking and finance. Pan American Bank, a 50-year
old community bank, launched the Banktivism awareness campaign in 2013.
According to a release by the MBAA, "the MBA Association is a supporter
of 'Banktivism,' or ethical banking and finance."
According to the Banktivist.com Web site, "Banktivists are banks and
bankers that participate in activities that support their local
communities, or the greater community at-large, in an effort to produce
benefit for local residents, small businesses, and the nonprofit
community. Banktivists are not the occasional forced/coerced volunteer
or supporter - they are the banks and bankers that maintain an honest
deep desire or mission to use their role as a member of the community to
create 'real' outcomes."
"It is an honor to have the MBAA at Cal State Fullerton recognize
Banktivism as part of the greater movement to infuse ethics into the
banking and finance industries. There has been an increasing focus on
ethics curriculum within business schools across the country. It is
great to see the MBAA at Cal State Fullerton embrace the concept.
Through such actions we may see the end of wolves roaming Wall Street,"
said Pan American Bank CEO Jesse Torres.
