(Canadian Press Broadcast Wire (Canada) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) GATINEAU, Que. - The families of the two Canadian accountants who died in a suicide attack in Afghanistan say both men felt they were doing meaningful work.
Martin Glazer of Gatineau, Quebec and Peter McSheffrey of Ottawa both worked for Gatineau-based consulting firm Samson and Associates.
They were among 21 people killed in Friday's attack at a popular restaurant in the capital Kabul.
McSheffrey's family says he loved to travel and was doing meaningful work.
Glazer's family says he also felt he was making an important contribution.
Company president Pierre Samson, says the two men were having dinner at the restaurant when the attack started.
He says they'd been in Kabul less than a week doing an audit for the Canadian International Development Agency.
Samson says the company has been doing work in Afghanistan for some time, but employees are not usually sent to areas considered very dangerous.
