Canadians-Killed-Afghanistan

(Canadian Press Broadcast Wire (Canada) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) GATINEAU, Que. - Two accountants who were auditing Canada's foreign aid work in Afghanistan have been identified as the Canadian victims of a brutal suicide attack in the capital Kabul.

The victims were Martin Glazer of Gatineau and Peter McSheffrey of Ottawa.

They worked at the Gatineau, Que.-based consulting firm Samson and Associates and were doing audit work for the Canadian International Development Agency.

Both families issued statements mourning their loss and saying they believed they were doing meaningful work in the war-torn country.

At least 21 people were killed in Friday's attack by the Taliban, one of the deadliest against foreign civilians since the war began nearly 13 years ago.

A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a restaurant filled with foreigners and affluent Afghans while two gunmen snuck in through the back door and opened fire.
