National Education Excellence Awards to be held on Jan.19 [Asian News International]

(Asian News International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) New Delhi, Jan.17 (ANI): The National Education Excellence Awards for the year 2014 will be held here on January 19 to acknowledge excellence in field of education.

About 60 institutes, including schools, colleges, universities, training centers and coaching centers have been short listed for the National Education Excellence Awards 2014 from 3638 applications which were received from the different parts of the country.

Education Excellence Awards 2014 will be given on the basis of the following criteria: Infrastructure, faculty, placements, annual growth, students and alumni feedback. The aim of the awards is to recognise excellence and reward extraordinary innovation, talent and imagination.

The awards have been organized by Earth Research Organisation, a multi-faceted organization that is into market research and brand management.

"Selection of the awardees has been done after six months of grueling market research, information provided by the institutions and feedback from students and people residing in the area where these institutes are located," said Avinash Singh, the president of the Earth Research Organisation.

Each awardee will receive national recognition and will be described as the best education entity in the country.

Senior BJP leader and former cabinet minister Shahnawaz Hussain, former Olympian Col.Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Chhattisgarh's Education Minister Kedar Kashyap and T.Radhakrishnan, Chairman of the Board of Secondary Education in Chhattisgarh will grace the event.

The award-giving event assumes significance, as it is a time when India is aspiring to transform itself into a knowledge economy.

The National Education Excellence Awards 2014 is one such step aimed at felicitating institutes and experts that are imparting quality education and encouraging students to aspire and achieve their best.

The holding of the event is also important from the view that it will bring together education sector and industry stakeholders on one platform to exchange their views and to determine the way forward in terms of best practices and innovation.

In recent years, the enrolment level in schools has improved significantly, with 97 per cent of children now in schools.

Education is and should be seen as the true alchemy that can usher in the next golden age for India. But this goal would require a synergetic approach between industry and the students.

Primary education is every Indian citizen's fundamental right, but this is a dream that is still a distant dream for many kids across the country, a majority of them underprivileged. The pressures of economic growth and the acute scarcity of skilled and trained manpower entrust the education sector with a very important national responsibility.

The education industry in India is a USD 90 billion opportunity. The government outlay is the third largest on education after the United States and China.

Government expenditure on school education is currently a very low three percent, and this statistic needs to be improved upon drastically if the goal of a knowledge economy is to be achieved. (ANI) (c) 2014 All rights reserved. Provided by, an company
