Atlantic Introduces Snowsound® Acoustic Panels

LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)--

Consumer Electronics Show (Booth 20636) - Today, 74% of American households have flat panel TVs and multiple speakers. According to the U.S. Consumer Sales and Forecast 2009-2014 report (recently released by CEA), there is optimism about home audio segment sales. This report finds many consumers are ready to upgrade their current AV systems to "foster a more immersive entertainment experience." Atlantic's new award-winning acoustic solutions may be a better upgrade than new AV equipment.

The MP3 generation grew up listening to music through earbuds, many of which have poor frequency response. It is no wonder, then, that many of these consumers have low expectations for home entertainment sound quality. Leo Dardashti, Atlantic's President and CEO, explained, "Those of us who grew up with large headphones, high-quality speakers and LPs played on turntables outfitted with diamond needles know how good sound can really be. We are pleased to introduce the Snowsound family of acoustic panels to improve the American home entertainment experience."

These sound absorbing panels attenuate high, mid-range and low frequencies and are carefully designed to improve room acoustics. Patented Snowsound technology aoustic panels are constructed with high quality, 100% recyclable, variable density polyester. Lab testing has verified significant sound absorption across 0 to 4 kHz.

Although effective acoustic solutions have been available for some time, they are found primarily in high-end, dedicated home theaters. Most consumers have neither the space for a dedicated area nor the budget to consider such solutions. Low-end acoustic panels exist today as well, but most are ineffective.

Surfaces of Snowsound technology acoustic panels are covered with durable, high-quality, fire retardant Trevira CS® polyester firmly bonded to the inner wadding, forming a single body without breaks. These panels are thin, light weight, decorative and fire tested. Available in three configurations, free standing Corista (62 in. x 17 in.), free standing or wall-mounted Mitesco (62 in. x 17 in.) and tilting, rotating, swiveling, wall-mounted Flap (26 in. x 18 in.). With the ability to rotate, multiple Flap panels can be arranged to form artistic patterns. Consumers will appreciate the aesthetics, design and color choices.

Corista is offered in black, while Mitesco and Flap are available in a variety of colors. Available April, 2014, the suggested retails range from $180.00 to $300.00.
