About Canopy
Minneapolis-based Canopy (www.canopyco.com) develops and delivers innovative products and applications that enhance and elevate the functionality and usability of mobile devices. It leverages the vast opportunities created in recent years by the booming market for smartphone apps, accessories, and "appcessories" (accessories with app integration). Canopy is doing for iPhone accessories what Apple (News - Alert) did for the mobile phone, by creating an application and developer-friendly hardware platform that drives both hardware and app sales. Canopy's key differentiation is its hardware platform, which bridges these two disparate vertical revenue streams. This hardware-platform business model drives effective promotion and sales to consumers via third-party app developers. Canopy was awarded the coveted MFi License (Made For iPhone) status by Apple, a designation only given to a small fraction of technology companies. The company is revenue stage and well-positioned with multiple patents pending, scalable offshore manufacturing, and established domestic and international distribution partners.
