Oracle and AppliedMicro Enable 64-bit Java for X-Gene


SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct 31, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (Nasdaq:AMCC), also known as AppliedMicro, today announced a collaboration with Oracle Corporation to port Oracle JDK for Linux-based ARMv8 64-bit servers. Oracle will work with Applied Micro's X-Gene Server on a Chip - the industry's first, and highest performance production grade ARMv8 silicon - to enable and optimize Oracle JDK for enterprise and cloud deployments.
