2 held for computer parts theft [Patna] [Times of India]


(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) PATNA: Acting on a tip-off, Patna police on Monday arrested two persons in connection with the theft of computer parts from Patna Collectorate in August this year. Unidentified thieves had allegedly stolen several computer peripherals on August 12 after bending the grills of subdivisional office of the Right to Public Services section on collectorate campus.



An FIR had been registered with the Gandhi Maidan police station in this connection, following which Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj had formed a team led by City SP, Patna, Jayant Kant. One Mukesh Kumar was arrested by the police team. During interrogation, he revealed the name of his accomplice, Kundan Kumar, who was arrested later. The cops recovered several computer peripherals, including those stolen from the collectorate campus, on the basis of information divulged by the arrested men, said Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj.

Pirated CDs seized: Patna police on Monday conducted a raid at Bakarganj Gola road under Pirbahore police station and seized pirated CDs worth over Rs 5 lakh. Two persons were arrested by the cops in this connection. City SP Jayant Kant had on Monday formed a special team to conduct the raid. The team conducted simultaneous raids at three godowns and seized porn CDs and CD wrappers. Jeetendra and Dharmendra, in their mid-30s, who were arrested by the police are siblings, said Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj.


Chain snatchers nabbed: The anti-chain snatching cell of Patna police on Monday arrested two chain snatchers, Kamlesh Kumar and Suraj Kumar, from Maharaja Kameshwar Complex and Hanuman Mandir, respectively, said Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj. The members of anti-chain snatching cell of Patna police move in civil dress to nab such miscreants, he added.
