Sabai Technology's Open Source Router Kickstarter Campaign Nears Completion

Simpsonville, SC, Aug 08, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- In July, technology startup Sabai Technology launched a Kickstarter campaign. The project is called JaiRo and is described as an open source x86 router project. Despite warnings that the project may be too early in development for a crowdfunding platform, the company hoped to strike a chord with the Kickstarter audience. "We knew this wasn't the typical Kickstarter campaign. We are in early development. Sabai is excited about this new product line and the Kickstarter was launched as a venue for accelerating JaiRo development," explains William Haynes, Sabai Technology CEO and Founder.

With just days before the conclusion of the JaiRo Kickstarter campaign, Sabai Technology still has a lot of work to do to get to their $50,000 fundraising goal. A successful campaign means a more aggressive development timeline, and a faster track toward a consumer ready product.

"We are pushing the timeline so aggressively because the public is clamoring for this device. Our customers are constantly asking for more speed and versatility on their networks," explains Haynes. "Either way, Kickstarter has been an amazing journey and has gotten so many people interested and engaged in the project that we are really encouraged. We know this is going to be a home run." JaiRo is positioned as a new kind of small business and prosumer router. Today's networks are under-powered. Most smartphones have more power than routers. Users are subscribing to cloud services and storing tons of information online at the same time headlines are telling us not to trust our information on the internet. One of the most compelling uses for JaiRo is as a secure personal cloud.

By providing the customers with the ability to own their cloud, they don't have to trust a third party service with their data. JaiRo will make setup a breeze, and give users control over their media and files.

Sabai plans to use JaiRo as a tool to demystify advanced networking. "Right now, you have to turn things like personal servers into a hobby in order to use them effectively. We know people aren't interested in becoming a network hobbyist," says Haynes.

Sabai Technology says they are appreciative of the many pledges already made through Kickstarter. If the project is not fully funded, the company will reconsider a second Kickstarter for the product launch. Meanwhile, Sabai is prepared to continue the project. "We believe in JaiRo and the potential it has to change people's lives. Nothing will stop us from making this product a reality," concludes Haynes.

Visit the JaiRo Project website for more information, or look the project up on Kickstarter. The final day of the JaiRo Project Kickstarter campaign is August 15th.
