At least five homes burglarized in Annapolis

Jul 22, 2013 (The Capital - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- At least five homes were burglarized in the past few days in Annapolis, city police said Monday.

An Oleva 32 inch LCD flat screen TV, an LG 50 inch LCD flat screen TV, a Panasonic DVD player, a XBOX Kinect, Nintendo Wii video game consoles and a Dell laptop computer were stolen between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday in the 1300 block of Tyler Avenue, police said. The residence was apparently unlocked, police said.

A HP laptop and a Canon digital camera were stolen in the first block of Eldemar Drive on Friday between 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Police said an entrance was unlocked.

Between 10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Friday, someone forced open the front door of an apartment in the first block Hearthstone Court and stole XBOX 360 and Playstation 3 video game consoles, video games, a safe containing money and jewelry and prescription medication.

An open window on the ground floor at a home in the first block of Heritage Court was forced open between 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 a.m. Saturday. A Samsung Galaxy Note cell phone was stolen, police said.

Between 1 p.m. Saturday and 9:40 a.m. Sunday, someone entered a home in the first block of East Street through an unlocked bathroom window and stole an Apple iPad.

In addition, a locked shed in the first block of Bunche Street was broken into sometime between 2 p.m. Thursday and 6:15 p.m. Saturday, but the owner was unsure whether anything had been taken, police said.

Also, police said someone broke a front window at The State House Inn, at 25 State Circle, sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday and stole money from inside.

While the number of burglaries is larger than usual, they don't appear to be related, said city police spokeswoman Cpl. Amy Miguez.
