Securus CEO Receives Connected World's ConnectED Award

Jul 01, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Securus, Inc., maker of a line of personal and enterprise mobile safety and security products, announced that Securus President and CEO Chris Newton was recognized for his innovation and vision in the M2M space with Connected World magazine's ConnectED Award on June 12 at the annual gala event held during the 2013 Connected World Conference at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara.

According to a release, the Connected World ConnectED Awards honor individuals who have applied innovation and vision to successfully bring their ideas to the M2M and connected-devices marketplace.

Secarus said that after being selected by a panel of judges, ConnectED winners can also identify Connectors, individuals that the ConnectED winner believes to have played an essential role in the success he or she has achieved. Newton identified Michael Xu of Micron Electronics and Amit Singh of Spectraforce Technologies as Connectors.

"It's an honor to receive the 2013 ConnectED Award, and I couldn't have done it without the support of incredible partners like Michael and Amit," Newton said. "M2M is transforming the way we approach safety and security at home and at work, and Securus is committed to continuing to work with our partners to develop and enhance products that improve lives." Securus noted that it also received a Connected World Gold Value Chain Award in the GPS category this year, and last year the company received a Connected World Gold Value Chain Award in the tracking category.
