[May 21, 2013] State Minister for Communication Affairs Lauds Batelco's Role in Developing Bahrain's Communication Sector [Bahrain News Agency] Tweet (Bahrain News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Manama, May 21 (BNA)-- State Minister for Communication Affairs Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa paid a visit today to Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) Network Operations and Customer Services Complex in Salmaniya where he was received by the company's Chief Executive Rashid Abdullah and a number of Directors General. He toured the complex and got informed about its facilities, departments and activities to ensure flow of services for customers. He lauded Batelco's pivotal role in supporting the communications sector in Bahrain, developing its work, broadening the scope of its activities and optimising services. He also hailed the company's social role by earmarking 2.5% of its net profits to charity work. He underscored support of the Ministry of State for Communication Affairs to all the communication companies in Bahrain, including mainly Batelco. he also stressed Batelco's full commitment to providing a developed communication infrastructure and services to ensure Bahrain maintains its pioneering status as a regional trade centre.
