Masergy CEO MacFarland Tapped as a Finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

May 21, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Masergy Communications CEO Chris MacFarland has been named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2013 Award in the Southwest Area North region.

According to a release, the program honors entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success and a personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

"This achievement is a testament to the passion and hard work of the entire Masergy team," said MacFarland. "Our people are our differentiator and we relentlessly focus on the best service possible for both our customers and our partners. This people-based approach has set the stage for the accelerated growth we are experiencing today." Masergy noted that MacFarland's recognition is highlighted by his leadership at Masergy where he and his employees have revitalized the company's position as a networking and cloud services provider. During his CEO tenure, MacFarland and his team have successfully led the company through an economic recession and have transformed the company into a profitable high-growth enterprise.

Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year finalists were selected by a panel of independent judges from among 100 nominations. Regional award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 22, at the Sheraton Downtown Dallas Hotel. Those winners then compete at the national level where the National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Overall Award winner will be announced Nov. 16, in Palm Springs, Calif.

Ernst & Young is a provider of assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services.

Masergy provides managed, secure global network and cloud communications services to enterprises that have complex needs across multiple locations.
