BRIEF: Gilbane cited for safety excellenceMar 15, 2013 (The Providence Journal - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A professional organization has named Gilbane Building Co. as one of the safest construction companies in the country for 2012. In a press release Friday, Gilbane, a real estate development and construction company based in Providence, announced that it was one of 29 contractors nationwide that placed first in the 2013 Construction Safety Excellent Awards as recently presented by the Associated General Contractors of America. "Safety is always a top priority for the construction industry," said Joseph H. Jarboe, past president of the contractors' association. "These companies showcase the highest commitment to keeping their projects and their employees safe."
