BRIEF: Man killed in single-car crash in west Modesto


MODESTO, Mar 13, 2013 (The Modesto Bee - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Modesto man died late Tuesday night in a single vehicle collision in west Modesto.

Eduardo Cervantes, 31, was driving east on Woodland Avenue west of Highway 99 at about 11 p.m. when for unknown reasons he turned his Chevrolet to the right, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It hopped a curb and went through some bushes, continued through Graphics Drive and collided with a traffic signal and a concrete wall at the southeast coroner of the intersection, according to the CHP.



Upon impact Cervantes, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was partially ejected through the front windshield. He was taken by ambulance to Doctors Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
