ENBALA Power Networks: Rob Coulbeck Appointed to IESO Stakeholder Advisory Committee
TORONTO, ONTARIO, Mar 5, 2013 (Marketwire via COMTEX) --
Rob Coulbeck, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs of ENBALA Power Networks, has been appointed to represent Electricity Service Providers on the Independent Electricity System Operator's (IESO) Stakeholder Advisory Committee.
The IESO manages the supply and demand for electricity in Ontario, directing its flow across the province's transmission lines. The Stakeholder Advisory Committee provides an opportunity for electricity industry professionals to be informed of IESO activities and to provide policy level advice directly to the IESO Board and Executive. Members also discuss reliability standards, the future evolution of the markets, IESO plans, and any other stakeholder considerations.
"We've added this new constituency to our SAC to recognize the increasing role of electricity service providers in our stakeholder community," said Terry Young, Vice President of Corporate Relations at the IESO. "Rob's experience integrating demand management technologies in other markets will be a valuable asset to our stakeholdering process as we look to integrate these services here in Ontario."
Mr. Coulbeck is responsible for ENBALA's regulatory and rule requirements as determined by the Independent System Operators and Regional Transmission Operators. He has over 25 years of electricity industry experience with a strong focus in power grid management, generation portfolio optimization, energy trading and demand-side management. Mr. Coulbeck, along with his team at ENBALA, work towards integrating the unique abilities of demand-side loads in wholesale energy and ancillary service markets.
"I am honoured to accept this seat representing Electric Service Providers on the IESO Stakeholder Advisory Committee," said Mr. Coulbeck. "My mission is to stand as the voice of our forward-thinking constituents and advocate for any ideas and initiatives on their behalf. The importance of communication and engagement cannot be ignored in our evolving industry, and I look forward to delving into crucial discussions with fellow members."
