Mintz Levin's Raymond D. Cotton to Speak at American Council on Education's 95th Annual Meeting


WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

Raymond D. Cotton, a Member of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. and Vice President for Higher Education of ML Strategies, LLC, will present at the 95th annual meeting of the American Council on Education (ACE). The meeting is being held March 2-5 in Wahington, D.C.



Mr. Cotton will speak on Sunday, March 3. His presentation, "Presidential Contracts: Are You Adequately Protected if Things Go Awry " will address the important elements to discuss when negotiating a presidential employment contract.

The 2013 ACE meeting will bring together presidents, chancellors and other senior-level leaders to discuss trends and promising practices with colleagues across all sectors of higher education. Participants will have access to experts and workshops that provide practical resources and tools that aid day-to-day decision making, as well as long-term strategic planning.


Mr. Cotton represents higher education and other non-profit executives and boards of trustees. His clients include colleges, universities, associations, and other non-profits. He has represented over 300 university boards of trustees, college presidents, and other non-profit executives during his more than 25 years in practice. He frequently counsels both boards of trustees and presidents on such matters as contracts, executive compensation, performance evaluation, goal-setting, current and deferred compensation, Intermediate Sanctions, Sarbanes-Oxley, and best practices for managing non-profit institutions.

Mr. Cotton is a frequent speaker on the programs of higher education associations. He is also a regular contributor to the Chronicle of Higher Education. He was listed in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business for Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation in Washington, DC.
