BRIEF: Powermat unveils cordless iPhone 5 charger


Feb 26, 2013 (Globes - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Powermat Technologies Ltd. today unveiled its cordless iPhone 5 charger at the Barcelona World Mobile Congress. The product includes a charging case and an extra battery which doubles the iPhone's work period. The kit has 7,000-milliampere mobile internal charging pad, which can recharge an iPhone multiple times, or recharge an iPad via a cable.



The case costs $60, and the full kit costs $130 in the US. Powermat products are not sold in Israel.

Powermat also offers a network of recharging surfaces across the US. It is running a pilot with Starbucks in Boston, and it has several hundred recharging surfaces at Madison Square Garden in New York, and at Delta Airlines lounges.


Powermat also presented its new recharging surface solution for companies, which can collect one-time payments, subscriptions or free use by their customers at cafes and malls. The network structure single cloud-based central system can monitor the use of each recharging surface, examine its condition, and provide technical support.
