Credential Financial Rings the Opening Bell of the Toronto Stock Exchange
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Feb 22, 2013 (Marketwire via COMTEX) --
Credential Financial today opened the market of the Toronto Stock Exchange in celebration of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Credential Securities, becoming a member of the TSX.
Last month, Credential Securities became a self-clearing IIROC brokerage firm. Also, with a new trade desk in Montreal, the firm now provides clients and internal stakeholders the ability to execute equity, fixed income, foreign exchange, and a number of other trading related products.
"As a TSX member, we are able to better capitalize on growth opportunities and thrive in a competitive business environment while continuing to provide excellence to our clients," said Doce Tomic, President and CEO, Credential. "The opportunity to ring the TSX bell is a fitting celebration of our 20 years in business and a period of significant growth for our company.
