Yumi Media Applauds the Vegetarian-Friendly Fare in NBA Arenas

Bohemia, NY, Feb 20, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- On February 20, in response to PETA's list of NBA arenas that offer a vegetarian menu, Yumi Media applauds the billion-dollar sports industry for its consideration of the vegetarian community, adding that easy-to-prepare vegetarian products like Quorn could be potentially successful concession items.

According to PETA's official blog, PETA named its top ten most vegetarian friendly NBA arenas. The Staples Center came in first, Air Canada Centre followed in second and the Wells Fargo Center was ranked third. "Fans looking for delicious, animal-friendly fare have come to the right place. Veggie dogs, two kinds of veggie burgers, and roasted butternut squash soup round out a starting lineup of vegetarian superstars that give Philly fans plenty to cheer about," reports PETA.

"Many other venues also offer a wide variety of vegetarian options, including honorable mention awardees Madison Square Garden(falafel, veggie sushi, edamame), Philips Arena (vegan sloppy Joes, pasta, baked potato), Time Warner Cable Arena (lentil veggie burger, grilled vegetable kebab, vegetarian panini), Sleep Train Arena (vegan sloppy Joes and veggie burgers), and Amway Center )vegan sloppy Joes and veggie burgers)." Yumi Media representative Justin Maas, avid Knicks fan and dedicated vegetarian, commented on the NBA's vegetarian service as a real treat. "There was a time when I couldn't get anything from the concession stand because of its limited selection. I usually would snack on some meatless vegetarian dish like Quorn Chicken Nuggets before the game just so I had something to enjoy. The NBA's effort to add a vegetarian diet menu tells me that the organization is really listening to its community."
