Univa: Grid Engine Software to Support ARMFeb 20, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Univa announced that its Univa Grid Engine software will support ARM, a semiconductor intellectual property (IP) supplier. According to a release, ARM designs the technology that is at the heart of digital products, from wireless, networking and consumer entertainment solutions to imaging, automotive, security and storage devices. With Univa Grid Engine supporting ARM, dynamic workloads are automatically placed, enabling ARM to perform tasks. "Large enterprise users have become increasingly interested in using ARM-based chips in the data center as the focus shifts from performance to making their servers more energy efficient," said Fritz Ferstl, Univa CTO.
