Visualant Retains Howard Nellor to Accelerate Revenue Generation

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 14, 2013 Visualant (OTCBB: VSUL) – an industry-leading provider of chromatic-based identification and diagnostic solutions with its ChromaID™ technology, announced today that it has retained the services of Howard Nellor, an experienced technology executive to work with and advise the company on strategic planning and finding efficient ways to fully exploit and monetize its ChromaID technology.

ChromaID, which just won the prestigious Prism Award at the SPIE Photonics West show last week in San Francisco can be used to identify, detect, or diagnosis markers invisible to the human eye. ChromaID scanner modules can be integrated into a variety of mobile or fixed-mount form factors. The patented technology is disruptive, making it possible to effectively conduct analyses in the field that could only previously be performed by large and expensive lab–based tests.

Mr. Nellor commented, “Visualant has the most promising, disruptive technologies and keen strategy that I have seen in many years. It’s a fortunate opportunity to be able to support their transition to significant market penetration and profits.” For the past 50 years, Mr. Nellor has managed the transition of technology products and projects to successful, profitable outcomes. His experience includes work with embedded and host software, design automation, robotic systems engineering, computer chip design and production, communication subsystems, communication satellite program management, operations management and CEO turn-around responsibilities at two public companies; Peerless Systems Corporation and Intermap Technologies, Inc.

Since 1987, Mr. Nellor has been president of Integrated Consulting Services. He currently is on the Board of Directors of Intermap Technologies, Inc. where he chairs the Governance and Nomination Committee. During the 3 years he has been on the Intermap Board, he also served as President and CEO and initiated a major restructuring and transitioning of the company from engineering development to successful, profitable sales and market licensing strategies.

Mr. Nellor holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from Pepperdine University.

Ron Erickson, Visualant Founder and CEO stated, “We are thrilled to have Howard on board as we hone our go-to-market plans for ChromaID. We believe we can build an industry around our transformative technology. With guidance from Howard we will maximize our licensing opportunities for ChromaID and product applications that can come to market in the near term.” About Visualant, Inc.
