SAIC receives prime contract from US Army National Guard

Feb 11, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Science Applications International Corporation, or SAIC, has received a prime contract from the US Army National Guard, or ARNG, to provide support for the operation, modernization, expansion and further evolution of the Enterprise Operations and Security Services, or EOSS, concept and the associated information technology services.

The single-award, firm fixed-price contract has a one-year period of performance, four one-year options, and a total contract value of approximately $58 million, if all options are exercised. The task order was awarded under the General Services Administration's Alliant government-wide acquisition contract. Work will be performed primarily at an SAIC facility in Vienna, Va.

Under the contract, SAIC will support the ARNG to evolve a traditional IT operation model into a services-oriented, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)-based concept of operations. Services will include common engineering and engineering project support, enterprise systems standardization support, data networks system engineering, security engineering support, service strategy and design, service transition, service operations and continual service improvements.

"We look forward to leveraging our extensive experience in world-wide network operations and maintenance capabilities and applying these to support the citizen soldiers of the Army and Air National Guard," said Dan Harris, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.
