Supervisors to review software upgrades


Feb 04, 2013 (Newton Daily News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Jasper County Board of Supervisors will hear from Planning and Zoning Director Larry Ryan about a property maintenance ordinance the City of Kellogg adopted last year. Jasper County has a similar agreement with the City of Baxter.



The purpose of the ordinance is to establish terms and conditions between the county and the city for the administration of ordinances related to the use of property inside the limits of the city.

Adam Sparks will inform the board of a $5,700 price quote for three software upgrades to WebCTRL5.5. If approved, the first invoice will be $3,995, and the second would be $1,705.


Items included are: --Spring cooling system and Fall heating system -- Inspection of the system, and a technician will spend two days on-site.

--Remote support via telephone and internet access -- Up to four hours of remote technical support will be included at no cost.

--Software upgrades -- Used for the Automated Logic system as they become available.

--Training -- Up to six hours of training is provided for the Automated Logic Control System.

The board also will hear from Celia Robertson about price quotes for the Virtualization Project. The project is meant for various upgrades to software. IP Pathways was quoted for $89,504.77, GovConnection was quoted for $58,305, QCI was quoted for $86,261.55 and HP was quoted for $9,902.08.

The board will also hear a resolution authorizing board chairman to deal with personnel issues of board employees, the approval of Reserve Deputy Sheriffs Tyler Clement and Rick Eilander and the Compensation Board's recommendation of elected official's salaries.

In an earlier meeting, a motion was passed for a 5 percent pay increase for the county attorney and sheriff; and a 4 percent pay increase for the auditor, treasurer supervisors and recorder.
