A chargeback is a transaction that is disputed by the customer days, weeks or even months after the service is provided and the charge transaction has occurred. Typically the customer will contact the credit card company and protest the charge, stating that he/she was not at the establishment on the date of the charge and/or that he/she did not receive or did not sign for the services charged.

All of the captured documentation is stored in a database in PCI-compliant format for future use as necessary. This database is accessible only to authorized facility personnel and is available for the life of the enterprise. If the restaurant or bar is notified of a chargeback, documentation is easy to find using any one of multiple search criteria such as cardholder name, date of charge, or charge total.
