BRIEF: Richmond deputies involved in fatal morning shootingFeb 01, 2013 (The Augusta Chronicle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Richmond County sheriff's deputy has been involved in a fatal shooting this morning at Fox Den Apartments off the 3200 Block of Wrightsboro Road. The Augusta Chronicle Richmond County Coroner Grover Tuten identified the dead man as Chaz D. Williams, 21, of Augusta. Tuten said an autopsy will be performed Saturday at the state crime lab on Phinizy Road. He said any other details would be released by the sheriff's office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Agent Pat Morgan, of the GBI, said several deputies were inside Apartment 133 shortly before 5 a.m. serving a warrant when the shooting took place. The shooting victim was being served the warrant, he said. Morgan said details were "sketchy" over what exactly happened.
