USITC Launches 337 Investigation into Huawei, ZTE ProductsFeb 01, 2013 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) announced a plan on January 31 to launch 337 investigation into 3G and 4G wireless equipments made by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, ZTE Corporation (SZSE: 000063 and SEHK: 0763) and Nokia Corporation (NYSE: NOK). According to the USITC, the investigation is launched in order to determine whether these products have infringed upon parents of American companies. This is the fourth 337 investigation into Chinese products launched by the U.S. since this year. The USITC made a statement on the same day, saying that the products involved in the case were mainly mobile phones (including smartphones), mobile PC cards, mobile flash disks, personal computers and other network equipments with mobile functions. As shown in the statement, four mobile equipment companies in the U.S. lodged complaints to the USITC on January 2, 2013, accusing the abovementioned products sold in the U.S. have violated their patents and thus asking for the launch of 337 investigation and the release of exclusion orders.
