NOC strategic planning meeting linked by video

ENID, Okla., Jan 30, 2013 (Enid News & Eagle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The process of planning for the next five years at Northern Oklahoma College continued Wednesday with a meeting held simultaneously on all three campuses.

People gathered in classrooms at Enid, Stillwater and Tonkawa, and -- linked by video -- reviewed the objectives developed by task forces assigned to each of the five goals identified earlier: Enhance the quality of life for students and enhance retention and graduation rates; cultivate and maintain partnerships to inform and improve academic decisions; upgrade facilities; enhance quality of life for faculty and staff; and diversify and increase revenue streams.

At Enid, there were about 20 people on hand. Jolene Koester, planning consultant with Penson Associates, led the discussion. Penson Associates has worked with NOC since fall to guide the college through the strategic planning process.

Koester had each small group talk about four questions about each objective.

--Are there any ideas or concepts that are not clear --What, if anything, is missing --Are the overall objectives and targets reasonable --What is your group's one top strategy for meeting one of the objectives in each of the goals The final plan is expected to be rolled out at the end of the academic year.
