Flux's File Workflow Engine Innovates with Native PGP and ZIP File Capabilities

Las Vegas, Nevada, Jan 31, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- Version 8.0 of Flux, a proven leader in file orchestration solutions for banks and financial services organizations, was released today and is now generally available.

Flux orchestrates file transfers and batch processing. Without human intervention, Flux orchestrates the transfer of high volumes of data and business transactions across different platforms and systems. Flux then manages batch processes performed against this data, including conversion of data, data compression, encryption, enterprise-specific processes as well as secure transfer for backup, replication, and distribution of files.

IT organizations realize that not all enterprise processing is interactive and web driven. Enterprises need to process high volumes of data not suited for interactive processing. IT organizations must optimize hardware and network resources to balance these resources.

Building on Flux strengths, Flux 8.0 adds several new features including: Native PGP Encryption and Decryption: Native PGP support for encrypting and decrypting files allows architects, software developers, and users to design workflows that receive or transmit information securely.

File Agents: Agents, which extend Flux's functionality to remotely accessible computers, now support file copying, file moving, and file detection. Users and developers can design file workflows that watch for and copy files from remote computers as part of an overall file workflow strategy.

Native ZIP File Archiving and Unarchiving: Like its native PGP support, native ZIP file support in Flux allows developers and users to design file workflows that perform file archival and extraction tasks without using any software external to Flux.

Complete REST API: While previous versions of Flux provided REST APIs for accessing Flux information over a network from a variety of clients and sources, Flux 8.0 finishes the job by extending a REST API to all remaining corners in Flux.

Simpler Network Configuration: Configuring Flux's network footprint is simpler now in Flux 8.0. Creating a highly available, highly scalable, active-active cluster of file workflow processing engines is simpler than ever.

Java 7 Support: Making Java 7's higher performance and greater security available to engineers and users alike, Flux 8.0 runs on both Java 7 and Java 6.

Improved Visual Workflow Layout Algorithm: While laying out workflows in Flux's web-based workflow designer, users can access an improved visual workflow layout algorithm, making it easier to visualize increasingly larger workflows.

Increased Ease of Use in Web-based Operations Console: Many different usability improvements have been made to the Operations Console, making it simpler and easier for operations teams to monitor and manage workflows.

"Flux 8.0 deepens Flux's commitment to file orchestration within rigorous and demanding banking and financial environments. From native PGP support to an improved visual file workflow layout algorithm within Flux's web-based workflow designer, Flux 8.0 makes it easier than ever to build and monitor robust file workflows," said Dave Sims, Founder and CEO of Flux.

ABOUT FLUX Flux orchestrates file transfers and batch processing for banking and financial services. First released in 2000, Flux has grown into a financial platform that the largest US, UK, and Canadian banks and financial services organizations rely on daily for their mission critical financial systems.

Flux was recently praised as a Strong Value in Enterprise Management Associates' (EMA) Workload Automation Report. Part of Flux's success is due to their engineering team's ingeniously simple approach to managing file processing workflows.

Across platforms and many industry sectors, Flux has simplified tasks surrounding workload automation, ensuring that critical transactions are processed on time. Whether Flux is used as a powerful standalone solution or embedded into a larger application directing tens of thousands of jobs, Flux solutions bring solid business value with efficiencies, precise control, and affordability. Flux delivers it all with a single point of control through the Operations Console for IT Operations and developers alike.

Privately held, Flux's US offices are located in Nevada, Colorado, Tennessee, Hawaii, and Montana. Buenos Aires, Argentina rounds out the locations with all offices providing effective engineering, development, professional services, and technical support to Flux's global customer base.
