Police release sketch of suspect in beating at Farmington Hills condo complex

Jan 25, 2013 (Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Farmington Hills Police have released a sketch of the man they say beat a 42-year-old woman at a condominium complex earlier this month.

The Jan. 16 incident happened hours after a 69-year-old Northville woman was beaten and robbed in her driveway.

The suspect in the Farmington Hills case is described as a black man, about 35 years old, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build. He wore a beige jacket and blue jeans and was in a light brown, late-'90s model four-door Ford Taurus.

Police are not certain that the suspects in both cases are the same, but they note that the attacks were similar. In addition, a cell phone taken from the woman in Northville was found in a wooded area near 8 Mile and Halsted in Farmington Hills.

The Farmington Hills attack happened in an exterior entrance of the Village Green Condominium Complex in the Eight Mile and Grand River area about 10:45 p.m. That woman was beaten with a club-type weapon, and its unclear if anything was stolen. In the Northville attack, the woman was approached by a man about 11 a.m. and asked to take a survey before being knocked out. Her purse with credit cards, ID and cell phone was stolen.

Both women were seriously injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call Farmington Hills Police at 248-871-2610 or Northville Police at 248-349-1234.
