Horry Georgetown Technical College offers help with applications [The Sun News (Myrtle Beach, S.C.)]


(Sun News (Myrtle Beach, SC) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Jan. 23--Horry Georgetown Technical College is offering to help students with college application paperwork from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 23, according to a news release from HGTC. Teams of financial aid and curriculum specialists will be available in the lobby of building 1100 on the Conway campus at 2050 U.S. 501. The service is free and offered through College Goal South Carolina.



Each participant should bring: -- 2012 federal tax returns -- student Social Security card -- driver's license -- 2012 W-2 forms or year-end pay stubs -- 2012 untaxed income records including Social Security income, temporary assistance, welfare or veterans benefit records -- an alien registration card for those who may not be U.S. citizens.

Students who need help filling out financial aid forms should also bring their PIN for the FAFSA, which may be obtained at www.pin.ed.gov. Attendees who pre-register will automatically be entered to win a fee iPad and free T-shirt. Winners must be present to collect. Registration can be handled online from the HGTC home page, www.hgtc.edu, which also includes additional information.
